Matthew,
Back in July you did a mod on my Onix CD-5. Very
similar to a Music Hall CD player. I've been meaning
to get back to you sooner but I didn't. Anyway, this
way it has had even more time to break in. It just
seems to continually get better & better. And it was
damn good from the get-go!! My buddies & I have done a
lot of listening & comparing & maybe it can be beat,
but haven't heard anything yet that will do it.
Thought you would want to know, thanks.
Monty Warner

Summary:
SACDmods (Matthew Anker) rocks!!! I bought the DVP-NC555ES as a factory B-stock and had it shipped directly to SACDmods (the mods void the warranty anyway, so why buy a factory-fresh unit?). I received the unit yesterday and inserted it into my dedicated 2-channel audio system. It's not even fully burned in yet, and all I can say is WOW!! With either SACDs or redbook CDs, the sound is significantly improved over any front-end source I've ever heard - and I have four separate systems, each with its own SACD player. The mods bring a level of detail and controlled bass that I didn't think was possible for under $1000 total. And this is in a 5-disc changer. To say I'm impressed with SACDmods would be an understatement. Way to go, Mr Anker.
